The Waterful Ring Toss
The Waterful Ring Toss was a toy that I had as a child, and I wanted to create a giant version of this game to help bring back that childhood memory that so many people had with this game. Throughout my time in graduate school, I have developed an interest in incorporating electronics into my projects, and decided this would be the perfect project to further explore those interests. The game uses a pneumatic solenoid connected to a push button to control the air flow in the tank, while an arduino controls the LED’s both above and below the tank. I fabricated the tank itself using 1/2” acrylic that I cut out on our CNC router, and constructed both the base and top units using 3/4” MDF. The rings, the large button and the name plates were all 3D printed.
