School of Rock
Role: Technical Director/Scenic and Lighting Designer
Venue: Cape Henlopen High School Auditorium
Description: My first main-stage production while working for the Cape Henlopen School District offered a unique challenge as we were presented with the opportunity to be the first public school ever to perform the show. I designed the set to have a single classroom wall that was able to be flown in and out to reveal the concert venue stage behind it. Along with this, I created several other rooms constructed with moving flats, as well as instrument platforms that could be moved on and off stage. For the bar scene, we created the back wall flats using brick textured Masonite, and I built the bar using 2x4 construction covered in MDF that I painted with a colored wood grain texture.
