Out of Darkness

Venue: California Institute of the Arts- E400 Theater

Description: During my first year of graduate school, I worked as the Assistant Technical Director for the school of theaters production of Out of Darkness. We created a community center “gymnatorium” in our black box theater, with a full proscenium stage, basketball court and bleachers. We created the tile wall texture using our cnc router and 1/4” mdf, and we laid tongue and groove wood flooring that the basket ball court was then painted on. Along with this, we created a tracking system for the main proscenium, and a large display case that had an electromagnet braking system for safety and ease of use for the stage management team.
