Oedipus the King

Venue: California Institute of the Arts- Walt Disney Modular Theater

Description: During my final semester in graduate school, I worked as the Technical Director for the theater schools production of Oedipus the King. We constructed a proscenium theater using soft goods and the pneumatically controlled platforms in our modular theater. We designed and constructed a roll drum system for the backdrop, a kabuki drop system to drop a 40’ wide scrim, two platforms that rose from the ground to form an “x”, and a 20’ diameter iris that opened and closed throughout the show.
